MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's golf team will travel to Belleair, Fla. to compete in the 2023 American Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship. The three-day tournament beings on Friday, April 21 and runs through Sunday, April 23. Live scoring can be found at GoTigersGo.com and the final round on Sunday will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
"It is championship season and we are in a very clear position of needing a win to secure postseason," head coach Blake Smart said. "Ultimately, we need to be at our best, and if we can do that, we will have a chance come Sunday. It's going to take a special effort, but I believe we have it in us to compete at that level."
The 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-70, 6,883-yard Pelican Golf Club. On Friday, Memphis will tee of between 9-10 a.m. Teams will be re-paired based on cumulative score for both rounds two and three.
The nine-team field includes Memphis, No. 40-ranked Cincinnati, East Carolina, No. 49 Houston, SMU, South Florida, Temple, UCF and Wichita State.
Last time out, junior Esteban Vazquez and sophomore Andrew Baucum paced the Tigers at the Aggie Invitational, with each tying for 34th place overall with scores of 220 (+4).
