Memphis Set for AAC Championship this Week

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's golf team will travel to Brooksville, Fla. this week to compete in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship. The three-day tournament begins on Monday, April 17 and runs through Wednesday, April 20. Live scoring can be found at GoTigersGo.com. The final round on Wednesday will be broadcast on ESPN+.
"The team is excited to compete this week at our AAC Conference Championship," head coach Jennifer Jordan said. "Even though there are only 10 teams, this is a very competitive conference this year and we are looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to compete."
The 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 6,289-yard Southern Hills Country Club. Teams will play one round each day with tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
The 10-team field includes Memphis, No. 20-ranked UCF, USF, No. 28 SMU, Cincinnati, Tulane, No. 36 Tulsa, East Carolina, No. 37 Houston and Wichita State.
Last time out, the Tigers had three players earn top-20 finishes at the Brickyard Collegiate. Tilly Garfoot had a great showing for the Tigers, tying for sixth place overall with a score of 226 (+10). The freshman carded rounds of 79-73-74 to earn her third top-10 finish of the year and her fifth top 20.
Senior Victoria England tied for 12th place with a score of 228 (+12), while sophomore Katie Stinchcomb tied for 18th with a total of 231 (+15).
