JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – The University of Memphis men's golf team got the spring season off to a great start, earning runner-up honors at the Battle at Briar's Creek with a team score of 860 (-4). No. 34-ranked Wake Forest won the tournament held at The Club at Briar's Creek in Johns Island, S.C. with a total of 851 (-13).

KEY MOMENTS
• Junior Esteban Vazquez led the charge for the Tigers on the week, tying for fifth place overall with a score of 214 (-2). Vazquez carded rounds of 72-71-71 to earn his third top-10 of the season.
• Both sophomore Adam Coull and senior James Morgan tied for seventh place at the Battle at Briar's Creek with scores of 215 (-1). The finishes marked the second top-10's of the year for both.
• Junior Ryan van der Klis tied for 12^th overall with a score of 216 (E) to earn his 3^rd top-20 finish of the season, while junior Jack Tanner tied for 33^rd with a total of 221 (+5).
• Playing as an individual, freshman Cian O'Connor tied for 55^th place with a score of 229 (+13).
