MORGANTOWN, W.V. – The No. 10-ranked University of Memphis rifle team placed sixth of eight teams at the Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships on Sunday. The Tigers notched scores of 2318 in smallbore, 2371 in air rifle and an aggregate of 4689.
No. 2 West Virginia won the conference championship team title with an aggregate of 4722.
"I'm proud of how the team shot at GARC Championships this weekend," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "They worked hard and managed their nerves well. This is always a more challenging match since we're competing head-to-head with the entire conference. A big highlight was Gabriela's third place finish in smallbore. She has had so much growth this year and this match really showed that she is competitive on the highest level. This match was great experience for both her and Angeline as they head into NCAA Championships!"
