No. 10 Memphis Ready for GARC Championships

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 10-ranked University of Memphis rifle team will head to Morgantown, W.V. to compete in the Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships from Saturday, Feb. 25 through Sunday, Feb. 26. Live targets can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
"This weekend will be a great last trip for us as we wrap up our season," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "It will be set up like the national championship, so it will be very good experience for Gabriela and Angeline. The team has been working hard and I know is excited to shoot one last match with everyone together!"
The two-day competition will feature smallbore on Saturday and air rifle on Sunday. The GARC Championships will feature the No. 10 Tigers, as well as No. 2 West Virginia, No. 5 Kentucky, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 9 Navy, No. 11 Akron, No. 13 NC State and No. 15 Army.
On the year, Memphis posted an overall record of 4-8 and a mark of 2-6 in conference action. The Tigers earned GARC wins over Army and NC State, while also earning victories against Jacksonville State and UT Martin.
This past Monday, both Angeline Henry and Gabriela Zych earned individual spots at the NCAA Championships in air rifle. Also, both Sophia Cruz and Jack Kersey were named as alternates in air rifle if any of the individual competitors in the event are unable to participate.
