Tigers Wrap Regular Season in Fayetteville & Cape Girardeau

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers wrapped up their regular season on Friday at the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark., and the Redhawks Open in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
"Cole [Riddle] and Drew [O'Connor] led the way in the vault, with Evan [Puckett] doing solid as well," head coach Kevin Robinson said. "Justin [Miller] had a season-best in long jump. In the throws, Jamal [Mitchell] had a PR. Sam [Lenton] Amber [Simpson], and Poorna [Raorane] did well. Sascha [Salesius Schmidt] had another strong showing in the shot put."
NOTABLES
• Cole Riddle won yet another meet in the pole vault (5.55m / 18'2.5"). His season-best and American Athletic Conference record-setting mark of 5.64 meters (18'6") is No. 6 in the NCAA this season. Drew O'Connor cleared a personal-best 5.30 meters (17'4.5") to finish fifth. That mark ranks 36th in the NCAA this year and fourth in the AAC. The Tigers own three of the top-five men's pole vault marks in the conference this year.
• Amber Simpson won the weight throw (19.08m / 62'7.25") and Samantha Lenton finished runner up (18.34m / 60'2").
• Poorna Raorane won the women's shot put with a 14.60-meter throw (47'11"). Lenton was the runner up (14.39m / 47'2").
• In the men's weight throw, Sascha Salesius Schmidt won with a 17.16-meter throw (56'3.75").
• Jada Shanklin matched a personal-best with a clearance of 1.75 meters (5'8.75") in the high jump and finished fourth.

• The Tigers go will compete in Birmingham, Ala., next weekend at the AAC Indoor Championships.
