NEW ORLEANS – The University of Memphis women's golf team finished in a tie for seventh place out of 18 teams at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein on Tuesday with a score of 927 (+63). No. 47-ranked Purdue won the tournament played at the English Turn & Country Club with a total of 897 (+33).
"This is a very tough event with regard to the weather conditions," head coach Jennifer Jordan said. "It is always extremely windy. We did not play our best for sure, but we have a lot of positives to build on going forward. I am still very proud of the way they handled themselves."
KEY MOMENTS
• Junior Rebecca Brink headed the Tigers' effort at the tournament, placing in a tie for 25th place with a score of 230 (+14). Brink carded rounds of 76-78-76 over the course of three days.
• Sophomore Katie Stinchcomb tied for 35th with a total of 233 (+17), while senior Victoria England tied for 42nd with a score of 235 (+19).
• Senior Brooke Veres finished in a tie for 57th with a total of 238 (+22), while freshman Tilly Garfoot tied for 61st with a score of 239 (+23).
