Dec 08, 2023 | General
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis saw five teams record perfect Graduation Success Rate (GSR) scores in the NCAA's latest release, and the department as a whole boasted a GSR of 93 percent. That figure is third highest in the conference.
In the NCAA's GSR report for the most recent 2016 cohort (2013-16), which calculates the rate at which student-athletes graduated within six years, Memphis' overall 93 percent GSR is above the Division I average of 90 percent in addition to ranking third in the American Athletic Conference.
Memphis' men's tennis, women's tennis, volleyball and women's golf programs led all AAC teams with a perfect 100 percent GSR, and rifle also recorded a GSR of 100 percent. Women's tennis has had a perfect 100 GSR for 19-consecutive cohorts, since the data point's inception, women's golf has had nine-straight 100s, men's tennis has recorded eight-consecutive perfect scores and volleyball has had a 100 percent GSR in four-straight cohorts. Rifle has notched six-straight perfect GSR scores.
"Congratulations to our student-athletes, coaches and Academic Support staff on another impressive Graduation Success Rate report," University of Memphis Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Laird Veatch said. "Academic success of our student-athletes will always be a top priority at Memphis, and that commitment is embodied by everyone in our athletic department."
Memphis has now recorded a department GSR of at least 93 percent in four-straight cohorts (2013-16).
