LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The Memphis Tiger women's soccer team picked up a 2-0 decision over Charlotte this afternoon to advance to the American Athletic Conference Championship match. This will be the Tigers third consecutive year playing in the championship game.

After today's game, Memphis moves to 17-1 for the season.

KEY MOMENTS

The Tiger offense took off early getting shots from Mya Jones, Honoka Hamano and Grace Stordy in the opening 30 minutes.
Charlotte would get its first look of the day in the 15' when Macey Bader got behind the Memphis defense and fired off a shot. Haylee Spray made a crucial sliding save at the last second to keep the 49er's off the board.
A trio of freshmen would put Memphis on the board in the 32'; Finley Lavin dropped a pass to Hamano in the box who found the feet of Anna Hauer for a clip in for the 1-0 lead.
Kaylie Bierman recorded back-to-back saves to close out the half.
Memphis would not let up in the second half seeing shots on-goal from Jones, Hauer, Saorla Miller and Delaney Tellex.
Jones would make it a 2-0 game after she connected on a penalty kick in the 80'.

NOTABLES

Bierman picked up her 15^th win this season after making five stops.
Memphis won the battle in shots (20-6), shots on-goal (14-5) and corner kicks (7-4).
Sunday's match will be the third consecutive AAC Championship match the Tigers will play in.
The 14-game win streak is a program best. The 17 wins this season is the best for Memphis since the 2019 season.
