Tigers Wrap Up ITA Regional with Pair of Runner-Up Finishes

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Memphis men's tennis concluded play Monday at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional with two runner-up finishes at the Champions Club Tennis Complex at Rivermont Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In the doubles draw, Pablo Alemany and Charlie Barry fell 6-2, 6-4 to Vanderbilt's Nathan Cox and Jeremie Casabon, the No. 2 overall seed in the bracket. The ended the weekend 6-1 overall.

On the singles side, Pau Fanlo got his championship match started on the right foot with a 6-4 victory in the first set, but would ultimately go on to fall 4-6, 0-6 in the next two frames as Middle Tennessee's Leo Raquin took home the crown.

Despite Monday's results, all three Tigers earned an automatic berth into the 2023 ITA National Fall Championships, which will take place November 1-5 in San Diego, California.

The Tigers will be back in action later this month to close out the fall season with a Hidden Dual match at Vanderbilt, Oct. 27-29.
