Tigers Finish Tied Ninth in Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational

VERO BEACH, Fla. – The University of Memphis men's golf team finished tied for ninth overall in the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational with a total score of 856 (-8) on Monday afternoon. Junior Andrew Baucum led the Tigers, posting a top-10 finish with a final score of 208 (-8).

"We are showing signs of progress but are still making too many mistakes. We are getting good play from all spots in the lineup, but things haven't lined up to take full advantage," head coach Blake Smart remarked. "I'm looking forward to a week of prep and qualifying before the final event of the fall."

Key Moments

Baucum played well through the tournament, carding rounds of 68-69-71 and finishing eight under par.
Sophomore Cian O'Connor posted a 212 (-4), tying his career-best finish, while also recording a top-25 finish for the second time this season.
Senior Jack Tanner and senior Esteban Vazquez both finished inside the top 60.
Junior Adam Coull finished T-78^th, carding rounds of 76-75-77.
