Memphis Announces Additional ‘72-73 50th Anniversary Celebrations

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Athletics is excited to announce additional celebration items commemorating the 50th anniversary of its 1972-73 Memphis State national runner-up men's basketball team.
The Tigers will be celebrating each of the starters of the national championship game, plus head coach Gene Bartow, at a game leading up to the big reunion of the entire team March 5 against Houston in the regular season finale.
The first 1,000 fans at each game will receive a bobblehead of the person being honored. Below is the list of dates:
- Jan. 19 – Wichita State (Gene Bartow)
- Jan. 26 – SMU (Billy Buford)
- Feb. 4 – Tulane (Larry Finch)
- Feb. 12 – Temple (Ronnie Robinson)
- Feb. 16 - UCF (Bill Laurie)
- Feb. 26 - Cincinnati (Larry Kenon)
If you are unable to make it out to the six celebration games, fans can still secure the complete set of bobbleheads without having to be one of the first 1,000 in attendance through a limited special ticket package.
