Tigers Take Fourth Place at Hoover Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Memphis women's golf team took fourth place at the Hoover Invitational at the Hoover Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. on Tuesday. The team shot a 54-hole, team total of 902 (+38). Southern Miss and South Alabama both tied for the win, but the tiebreak went to Southern Miss on fifth-player score.
"A disappointing last day for the girls for sure," head coach Jennifer Jordan said following the tournament. "They did their best, but it just wasn't in the cards for us this time. We are headed to the Lady Paladin Invitational, where we will regroup and come out strong"
KEY MOMENTS
• Senior Victoria England continued her great start to the season, earning a second-straight top-five finish, placing in a tie for fourth overall with a score of 218 (+2). England carded rounds of 72-71-75 for the tournament.
• Sophomore Katie Stinchcomb took home a tie for 13th place with a total of 225 (+9), while freshman Tilly Garfoot tied for 26th with a score of 230 (+14).
• Redshirt sophomore Lea Dawson finished in a tie for 37th with a total of 233 (+14), while junior Rebecca Brink tied for 39th with a score of 234 (+18).
• Playing as an individual, senior Brooke Veres tied for 42nd with a total of 235 (+19).
