• Coin Toss: Memphis won the toss and elected to receive.

TEAM NOTES
• With the victory, Memphis improves to 23-1 in the team's last 24 non-conference games at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
• The Tigers improved to 32-24-5 in the all-time series with Arkansas State.
• Memphis improved to 37-5 (.881) at home since head coach Ryan Silverfield joined the coaching staff in 2016. As a head coach, Silverfield is 12-2 (.857) at the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
• The Tigers have now won nine-straight home openers. All-time, Memphis is 52-49-5 in home openers.
• The 44 points posted by the Tigers was the most Memphis has scored this season.
• Memphis recovered a fumble with 1:12 to play in the fourth quarter, extending the Tigers' streak of forcing at least one turnover to eight games dating back to last season. Over that stretch, the Tigers have recorded 18 takeaways.

• Henigan moved up Memphis' all-time list in career-passing yards. His 4,262 career-passing yards now rank him No. 7 in Tiger history.
• Additionally, Henigan passed for three touchdowns on the day and moved into a tie for No. 6 all-time at Memphis for career-touchdown passes (31).
• Henigan moved to ninth all-time at Memphis in pass attempts for a career (485).
• Redshirt-junior tight end Caden Prieskorn recorded his second TD reception of the season with 7:30 to play in the first quarter. Prieskorn caught his second TD reception of the day (a career high) and third of the season with 8:20 remaining in the first half. Prieskorn ended the game tied for the team lead in receptions (5), tallying 69 yards to go with his pair of TD catches.
• Henigan's eight-yard rushing TD with 1:30 to play in the first half put the Tigers in front 21-17. It was Henigan's second rushing touchdown of the season and of his career.
• True-freshman running back Sutton Smith saw his first action as a Tiger, carrying the ball three times for 21 yards.
• Redshirt-junior wide receiver Joseph Scates hauled in a 51-yard touchdown for his second score of the season with 14:47 to play in the third quarter. Both of Scates' touchdown receptions this season have come on the Tigers' first offensive plays of their respective quarters. Additionally, both TD receptions by Scates have been 50+ yards.
• Henigan's third TD pass of the game to Scates moved him into a tie for sixth all-time for touchdown passes in a career at Memphis (31) and was his fourth-overall TD on the night (3 pass, 1 rush).
• Redshirt-senior kicker Chris Howard stayed perfect on the season, drilling a 47-yard field goal with 8:55 remaining in the fourth quarter to extend Memphis' lead to six points at the time. Howard is five-for-five on field goal tries this season.
• Redshirt-sophomore running back Jevyon Ducker paced the Tigers on the ground, carrying the ball 10 times for 76 yards – including a 39-yard fourth-quarter touchdown that gave the Tigers a five-point lead with 2:08 to play. Ducker set new Memphis-career highs in carries and yards.
• Redshirt-sophomore running back Brandon Thomas iced the game for Memphis with an eight-yard rushing TD with :57 seconds left in regulation. It was the second rushing TD this season for Thomas and 10th of his career. He ended the game with 13 carries for 46 yards.
• Fifth-year wide receiver Gabriel Rogers was the leading receiver for Memphis, hauling in five passes for 86 yards.
• Redshirt-freshman William Whitlow Jr. recorded the first sack of his Tiger career.
• Junior defensive back Davion Ross started his first game as a Tiger and set career highs in tackles (7), tackles-for-loss (1) and pass breakups (1).
• Redshirt-sophomore linebacker Davian Mayo registered a career high in tackles (8).
• Fifth-year linebacker Tyler Murray matched his career high in tackles (8).
