HARRISONBURG, Va. – No. 23 Memphis began a challenging weekend with a 3-2 defeat to Louisville Thursday night in Harrisonburg, Va.

- The Tigers rebounded from surrendering an early goal to tie the game in the 22nd minute when Eef Kerkhof scored his first-career Tiger goal off an assist by Momo Nakao.
- Nakao gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead in the 57th minute off a dish from Saorla Miller.
- Louisville came right back and tied the game at 2 in the 58th minute and then scored the eventual game-winner in the 65th minute.
- Kerkhof, a graduate student from Mills, Netherlands, now has a goal and an assist in five games played.
- Nakao, who was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week earlier this week, has scored three goals in the last three matches.
- The sophomore from Inzai City, Chiba, Japan is tied with Anne-Valerie Seto for the team lead with three goals.
- The Tigers had seven corner kicks in Thursday's contest.
- Memphis' road trip continues Sunday at No. 5 Virginia.
- The game is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. CT and can be seen on AAC Network.
- The Tigers then return to Memphis to host Florida Atlantic next Thursday, Sept. 8.
