Likes Lands on Rimington Trophy Preseason Watchlist

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis offensive lineman Jacob Likes was named to the Rimington Trophy Preseason Watchlist on Friday. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in NCAA Division I College Football.
In 2021, Likes started all 11 games in which he appeared for the Tigers, allowing just two sacks and three quarterback hurries in 451 pass protection snaps. He helped Memphis rank 16th in the nation in passing offense (298.8) and 38th in total offense (434.9). For his career, Likes has appeared in 19 games and is a three-time AAC All-Academic Team honoree.

The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in NCAA Division I College Football. Since its inception, the award has raised over $5 million for the Boomer Esiason Foundation.
Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only two-time winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
