MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis track and field will compete in its third outdoor meet of the season at the Joey Haines Invitational this weekend in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
The two-day meet is hosted by Southeast Missouri State University at the Abe Stuber Track Complex. It will feature the men's and women's hammer throw at 3:30 p.m. Friday, and all other running and field events will take place Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
"I think the biggest focus is to continue to build on the momentum," said head coach Kevin Robinson.
The Tigers competed last weekend at the Ole Miss Classic, where they finished with seven medals and 28 top-10 performances. Senior Cole Riddle took home the gold in the men's pole vault, while Mona Jaidi, DeeNia McMiller, Drew O'Connor, Robby Watson, D'Angelo Whitehead and Adam Yakobi all earned top-three spots in their respective events.
After this weekend, there are three straight meet weekends for the Tigers before the Memphis Invitational at the end of April.
