Track and Field Continues Outdoor Season at Two Meets

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The majority of University of Memphis track and field athletes are ready to compete at the Ole Miss Classic this weekend in Oxford, Miss., while a few distance athletes prepare to run in events at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University.
Payton Gleason, Tate Wyatt and Zachary Wyatt are set to race in Raleigh Thursday and Friday at the Dail Track/Soccer Complex. More than 150 teams will be competing throughout all events.
The Ole Miss Classic will begin Friday with only a few throws events, with the remainder of competition following throughout the day Saturday. Events are scheduled to kick off at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex.
This is the first of two meets at Ole Miss for the Tigers; the second is the Joe Walker Invitational in two weeks.
Last weekend, the Tigers earned 23 top-five finishes at the season-opening Rhodes Invitational. First-place performances included those by Tate Wyatt, Adam Yakobi, Chloe Figgins, Erin Gilbert, Lauren Metzger and Brooke Mussche.
