NOTES: Memphis Host Tulsa on Thursday Night

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis will host Tulsa on Thursday, Nov. 10 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The game is set for a 6:30 p.m. kick and will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Tickets for the 2022 Memphis Football season are available at GoTigersGo.com. Tickets in the family zone for all home games start at $20 and in the endzone for $25.
SETTING THE SCENE
• This past Saturday, the Tigers fell to No. 25/25/25-ranked UCF, 35-28, in Memphis. Quarterback Seth Henigan completed 26-of-39 passes for 284 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, while rushing for a team-high 69 yards with a score. Xavier "Zay" Cullens had a game-high 13 tackles for the Tigers to go with a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss.
• The Tigers have forced at least one turnover in 12 of their last 14 games, piling up 26 takeaways over that span.
• Memphis posted a record of 6-6 last season, earning the program's eighth-straight bowl appearance.
• The Tigers were named the EasyPost Hawai'i Bowl Champions after Hawai'i was unable to participate.
• The eight-consecutive bowls streak is tied for the eighth-best in the nation and is the best among all non-Power 5 programs.
SCOUTING TULSA
• Tulsa comes into Thursday's game with an overall record of 3-6 on the season and a mark of 1-4 in AAC play.
• Last Saturday, Tulsa fell at home to No. 19/21/19 Tulane, 27-13. The Hurricanes' wins this season have come against Northern Illinois, Jacksonville State and Temple.
• Tulsa ranks 13th in the nation in passing yards allowed (176.4), 17th in red zone offense (.912) and 30th in passing offense (276.0).
• Prior to the season, Tulsa was picked to finish eighth in the AAC by the media.
• In 2021, the Golden Hurricane finished the year with an overall record of 7-6 and a mark of 5-3 in league play. Tulsa earned a berth to the Myrtle Beach Bowl, where the team defeated Old Dominion, 30-17.
INSIDE THE SERIES
• The meeting between Memphis and Tulsa on Thursday will mark the 32nd all-time game between the two programs dating back to 1961.
• The Tigers hold the advantage in the series, 19-12, and has a record of 8-5 against the Golden Hurricane in Memphis.

TIGERS TO RECOGNIZE GLENN ROGERS SR.
• Memphis will honor Glenn Rogers Sr., the first Black player to integrate the team in the spring of 1968, at halftime of the team's game on Thursday.
• Rogers Sr. played for the Tigers from 1969-71 after walking on to the team in the spring of 1968.
• In 1969, both Rogers Sr. and Stan Davis, who joined the team in the fall of 1969, became the first Black players to appear in a game for Memphis.
• For all his service and contributions to the community, Rogers Sr. was honored with the M Club Hall of Fame Billy J. Murphy Award in 2000.
DISCIPLINED TEAM
• Entering Thursday's game, Memphis is ranked sixth in the nation in both total penalties (37) and in fewest penalties per game (4.11).
• The Tigers did not have any penalties at No. 25/25 Tulane on Oct. 22, marking the first time since 2020 against Houston the team accomplished that feat.
RANKED OPPONENTS
• The game against No. 25/25/25 UCF marked the fourth opponent for Memphis this season that has been ranked at some point during the year.

• Defensive back Quindell Johnson ranks 18th in the NCAA in interceptions with three.

MEMPHIS TO RETIRE DANTON BARTO'S NO. 59 JERSEY
• One of the best players in the history of University of Memphis Football, Danton Barto's jersey (No. 59) will be retired in a ceremony at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on Nov. 19 against North Alabama.
• A 2007 M-Club. Hall of Fame inductee, Barto remains the school record holder for career solo tackles (273) and career total tackles (473) and ranks second all-time with 200 assisted career tackles. Barto passed away in August of 2021 at the age of 50.
• Barto will join a prestigious group of former Tigers to have their jersey retired: John Bramlett (No. 64), Isaac Bruce (83), Dave Casinelli (30), Charles Greenhill (8), Harry Schuh (79) and DeAngelo Williams (20).
MEMPHIS HONORS BILLY J. MURPHY
• The University of Memphis football program honored Billy J. Murphy at the team's game against No. 25/25/25 UCF on Nov. 5
• Murphy, former head football coach and athletic director for the University of Memphis for more than 30 years, will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the 2022 class on Dec. 6.
• The winningest coach in Memphis history, Murphy headed the Tigers' program for 14 years, posting winning records in all but two seasons and leading the school into the national rankings. Murphy passed away on Feb. 21, 2008 at the age of 87.
