Nov 03, 2022 | Men's Soccer
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After concluding the regular season with a 2-0 win over UAB, the Tigers have placed Colin Welsh and Eric Primo on the final American Athletic Conference Weekly Awards list.
Welch, a sophomore out of Overland Park, Kan., snagged the final Goalkeeper of the Week award after making five stops in his fifth solo shutout of the season in the team's 2-0 win over the Blazers. Welsh would make a diving stop at the end of the match to secure the team's sixth clean sheet of the year.
This is the fourth Goalkeeper of the Week nod for Welsh and the fifth time he has been named to the weekly awards in his career.
Primo, a sophomore from Alacasser, Spain, netted the team's go-ahead, and eventual game-winning goal, in the 12' of play in their season finale win over UAB.
This is Primo's first Honor Roll award for the season and his career.
Memphis, who finished 5th in the AAC standings, will move on to postseason play this Sunday when they head to Oklahoma to take on #4 Tulsa in the opening round of the AAC Championship. Game time will be announced at a later date.
