SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Memphis (4-7-3, 3-4-0 American) men's soccer team fell in its final road match of the season against Missouri State (6-5-2, 3-3-0 American) by a score of 1-0, Saturday night.

A quiet first half was quickly followed by an early second-half goal from a Missouri State corner kick.

KEY MOMENTS

41' – After a stalemate through most of the first half, Saad Chaouki had a chance just inside the left wing for the first shot on goal by either team.
43' – A quick counter by the Bears after Chaouki's shot led to a sprawling save by Filip Sabatti to deny a short-side shot attempt.
52' – Missouri State's Harry Jolley gave the Bears a one-goal lead with a successful header on the back post from a corner kick.
67' – While chasing the game-tying goal, Filip Sabatti denied a Missouri State scoring opportunity from a strong shot.

NOTABLES

Memphis now moves into a three-way tie in the conference standings with Missouri State and Tulsa as each program sits with nine points.
- The Tigers would stand as the sixth seed if the season ended today as Missouri State would own the tiebreaker over Memphis and Memphis holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over Tulsa. Missouri State and Tulsa are set to face off next week as that match would be considered in a tiebreaker amongst three teams.
Memphis' four shots were its second-least in a conference match this season.
