Memphis Meets Stanford to Wrap Up Disney Trip
Nov 26, 2022 | Men's Basketball
ORLANDO, Fla. – After a 73-61 win over Nebraska Friday night, the Memphis Tigers will play in the first game Sunday morning against Stanford at 10 a.m. CT on ESPNU.
The Tigers (3-2) and Cardinal (3-3) will meet on the hardwood for only the second time ever in the final matchup of the ESPN Events Invitational. The lone meeting came 22 years ago on Nov. 24, 2000 when No. 5 Stanford won an 83-60 decision.
Memphis took care of the Cornhuskers Wednesday night behind four Tigers forcing a season-high 20 turnovers and putting four in double figures.
Kendric Davis, DeAndre Williams, Alex Lomax and Keonte Kennedy combined for 60 points, 17 rebounds, 11 assists and 11 steals while going 6-of-12 from three-point range. Davis produced his third consecutive 20-point outing, just the fourth time he's done so in his career, while Lomax and Kennedy each recorded season highs.
Lomax climbed into the top-10 of the program's steal chart with four thefts against the Huskers, giving him 175 for his career and tying Cedric Henderson ('93-97) for 10th-most all-time.
Following Sunday's game, the Tigers return home for three straight games at FedExForum. They will host North Alabama at 7 p.m. on Wednesday before welcoming Ole Miss on Dec. 3 (6:30 p.m.) and Little Rock on Dec. 6 (7 p.m.).
