NOTES
- Friday's matchup will just be the second meeting between the schools in program history. The Tigers won an 86-79 game on Dec. 22, 1954.
- Penny Hardaway and Nebraska's head coach Fred Hoiberg are two of the 23 former NBA players on the sidelines for a Division I program this season.
- Kendric Davis led Memphis against the Pirates with a game-high 22 points and six assists, while also adding seven rebounds in 36 minutes. He was 7-14 from the floor and 7-8 from the free throw line.
- Malcolm Dandridge tied his career high with 14 points. He also set a career high at the free throw line with an 8-10 performance.
- Chandler Lawson nearly had himself a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds in his second-straight start for the Tigers.
- Alex Lomax is now just four steals from cracking the top-10 of Memphis' career steals chart. He has 168 after swiping two against Seton Hall.
- Memphis trailed only once in the second half until SHU's game winner and had a four-point lead with just over a minute remaining.
- Despite facing the fourth-toughest defensive team in the country in Seton Hall, the Tigers shot 45.1 percent from the floor (23-51) for their second-highest mark of the young season.
- Memphis did struggle with ball security, coughing up the rock 17 times while only recording 10 team assists.
- The Tigers did win the rebounding battle for the fourth time in four games, hauling in 35 to the Pirates' 32.
- The difference in the game was Seton Hall's ability to convert second-chance points, outscoring the Tigers 16-7.
- Nebraska (3-2) fell 69-56 on Thursday to Oklahoma, despite 16 points from Alabama transfer Juwan Gary.
- Gary is leading the Huskers over the last three games, averaging 13.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
- The Huskers won the battle on the boards 35-23, but the Sooners shot 51 percent from the floor and overcame that deficit with a 9-for-20 performance from three-point range.
- There will be some familiar ties on the floor Friday as Memphis' Kendric Davis and Jahmar Young Jr., and Nebraska's Emmanuel Bandoumel were all teammates at SMU the past three seasons before each transferred out in the offseason.
