HOUSTON – Memphis (17-13,7-9) fell to the Houston Cougars (26-2,16-0) on Friday night. Houston defeated the Tigers in three sets (25-20,25-18,25-18).

Sophomore Jasmyn Tate returned to the court tonight after missing the last three matches with an injury. Memphis was able to keep it close to start each of the sets and held Houston to .146 hitting percentage in the second set.

The Cougars offensive attack in the first and third sets bested the Memphis defense to give Houston the season sweep.

Notables

Jazmyn Tate returned to the lineup after missing the last three matches. She tallied six kills, two assists and three digs.
Senior Kate Bass had a match-high four blocks and had six kills on .417 hitting percentage.
Bailey Houlihan recorded a match-high 22 digs and Loren Robertson a match- high 23 assists.

Up Next: Memphis travels to New Orleans to play Tulane on Sunday at 1 pm. The Tiger return to the Finch Wednesday against Tulsa.
