Tigers Host No. 14 Charlotte, Travel to Temple

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – In search of their third conference win of the season, the Memphis Tiger men's soccer team will welcome Charlotte to the Bluff City on Wednesday night before jetting off to Philadelphia to take on Temple on Sunday evening.
Memphis (5-2-2, 2-1 AAC) is coming off a heartbreaker at Florida International. After fighting back with goals from Toby McCallum and Alberto Cruz to take a 2-1 lead, the Panthers would score two unanswered goals in the final six minutes of the match to hand Memphis just their second loss of the season.
For the season, Alberto Cruz and Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos leads the team with five and four goals, respectively, while eight other Tiger players have all recorded at least one goal. Colin Welsh, who has started and appeared in all nine games, currently ranks in the top half in the conference in total saves, goals against average and save percentage.
Charlotte (7-1, 1-1 AAC) is coming off their first loss of the season when Tulsa shut them out this past Sunday. The Golden Hurricane scored twice in the opening half to claim the 2-0 win.
For the season, Kameron Lacey leads the team with six goals and two assists while Alex Willis has chipped in five goals and three assists. Ten other 49er players have scored at least once this year. Thomas Wallis, who has started and played in all games for Charlotte, has recorded 23 saves while allowing just four goals.
This will be the first meeting between Memphis and Charlotte since the 2013 season where the Tigers came away with the 2-1 win.
Temple (2-5-2, 0-3 AAC) is currently on a three-game losing streak after falling in back-to-back matches against to South Florida and SMU last week. The Owls, who got goals from Sean Karani and Yann Kouemi, were outscored 6-2 and outshot 33-17 over the two-game span.
For the season, Yann Kouemi leads the team with three goals while three other Temple players have recorded multiple goals.
Wednesday's game against Charlotte is scheduled to kick-off at 7 p.m. while Sunday's game at Temple will begin at 6 p.m. CT. Coverage of both games can be found on ESPN+.
