Henry Breaks Two School Records in Win over No. 9 Army

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 14-ranked University of Memphis rifle team defeated No. 9 Army, 4676-4628, at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range on Sunday morning in Memphis, Tenn. The Tigers (1-3, 1-2 Great American Rifle Conference) beat Army (0-2, 0-2 GARC), 2315-2295, in smallbore and 2361-2333 in air rifle.
"We're really happy with the way our match against Army went today," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "It feels good to have a win under our belt and we feel like the pieces are starting to come together. Today was also special with Angeline breaking two program records. We'll enjoy a weekend off next weekend before our next double header."
KEY MOMENTS
• Senior Angeline Henry was tremendous on Sunday, setting a pair of school records en route to placing first overall. Henry shattered the previous program marks in both smallbore (591) and aggregate (1186). Henry also placed first in air rifle with a total of 595.
• Freshman Gabriela Zych took second overall with an aggregate score of 1168 which included marks of 576 in smallbore and 592 in air rifle.
• Junior Kaylene Castillo took fourth place on Sunday with an aggregate score of 1161 and marks of 574 in smallbore and 587 in air rifle.
