MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger men's soccer team will come back to Park Avenue Campus this week when they host #17 Lipscomb and FAU.
The Tigers (6-3-3, 3-2-1 AAC) are coming off their third top-25 match-up of the season when they traveled to #24 Tulsa this past weekend.
For the season, Alberto Cruz, who is currently ranked 12th in Division I in total goals, leads the team with six goals while Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos is right behind him with five goals and three assists. Eight other Memphis players have recorded goals this season while the team as a whole has a shots on-goal percentage of almost 0.600.
Colin Welsh has been a staple for the Tigers in goal this season, racking up 40 saves in over 1,068 minutes of work. He currently ranks third in the conference in total saves and first in minutes played.
Lipscomb (10-1-1, 5-0 ASUN) comes into the Tuesday's game on a five-game winning streak that was extended after they took down Stetson this past weekend. Hayes Wood recorded goals in the 8' and 49' while Michael Sibley recorded two saves in the Bison's 2-1 win.
For the season, Jelldrik Dallman leads the team with 10 goals and two assists while Malachi Jones and Woods have both chipped in six goals each. In goal, Sibley has been the go-to for Lipscomb with 26 saves and five solo shutouts recorded this year.
The Tigers and Bison are no stranger to one another; while the rivalry runs back two decades, the two have matched up evenly over the last 10 years.
Florida Atlantic (3-6-3, 2-2-2 AAC) is coming off a 1-0 loss to Temple where, despite winning the battle on shots and corner kicks, Temple was able to find the back of the net in the 70' to hand FAU the loss.
Victor Claudel leads the team with four goals while four other Owls have recorded goals this season. In goal, Axel Hofmann and Neil Strauber have split time this season. The duo has recorded 51 saves.
Tuesday's match against #17 Lipscomb is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time while Saturday's match will begin at 7 p.m. Both games will be available to watch on ESPN+.
