Howard Named AAC Special Teams Player of the Week

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis football kicker Chris Howard was named the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

Last Saturday at East Carolina, Howard connected on all three of his field goal attempts, hitting from 23, 40 and 46 yards out. For the season, he is a perfect, 14-of-14 on field goal attempts and 25-of-26 on PATs.

Howard is tied for the NCAA lead in field goal percentage (1.000), second in field goals per game (2.0) and seventh in total points scored (67).

The Memphis Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 22 when the team heads to New Orleans to face the No. 25/25-ranked Tulane Green Wave. The game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. kick and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2.
