Jan 28, 2022 | Men's Track and Field, Women's Track and Field
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis track and field continues their indoor season Saturday with the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky.
The meet is hosted by the University of Louisville and will be held at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center. Events will begin at 10 a.m. with the women's weight throw and will conclude Saturday night after all track events.
"I am excited for this competitive opportunity," said head coach Kevin Robinson. "Louisville has built a phenomenal new facility, and we look forward to testing it."
The Memphis squad opened the season last weekend at the two-day Vanderbilt Invitational, and Robinson said he saw it as a chance to gauge the team and learn what they need to do this season.
The Tigers look to continue successful performances from Nashville. The team had several top-five finishes, and DeeNia McMiller had a mark of 21.70m in the women's weight throw, which is ranked 10th nationally by TFRRS.
"Our biggest goal for this week is to see continued and consistent improvement," he said. "We want to try to build more momentum and confidence as we progress into our championship season."
Competing Teams: Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana State, Louisville, Marshall, Memphis, MTSU, Notre Dame, South Florida, Southern Illinois, Vanderbilt and Western Kentucky.
