Sabrina Bianco Named AAC Offensive Player of the Week

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the second consecutive weekend, the Memphis Tigers went 3-0 and won all nine sets that they played, and for the second straight week, a member of the Tigers was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. After Elizabeth Orf took home the honors last week, Sabrina Bianco earned the honor after Memphis' perfect weekend at the Central Arkansas Invitational.
In her third year with the Tigers as the team's primary setter, Bianco has gotten off to a tremendous start, part of the Tigers' 6-0 start with an 18-set win streak. At the Central Arkansas Invitational, Bianco was named the tournament's MVP with 113 assists, good for 12.56 assists/set. The senior added three service aces and 20 digs.
Through the first two weekends of the season, Bianco leads the AAC in assists per set (12.78), nearly three assists per set more than anyone else in the conference. Bianco also sits in the top 10 in the AAC service aces per set and top 20 in digs per set.
After consecutive perfect road tournaments, Memphis will look to make it three straight, as the Tigers head to the SEMO Invitational. Memphis will face Southeast Missouri State Friday and take on both Kansas City and Marshall Saturday.
