Galizzi Scores Twice; Tigers’ Comeback Falls Short

CONWAY, Ark. – Maxi Galizzi scored twice within two-and-a-half minutes late in the second half to tie the game at 2, but an 88th-minute Central Arkansas goal gave the Bears a 3-2 win over the Memphis Tigers Tuesday night in Conway, Ark.

Memphis is now 1-4-1 on the season heading into conference play Saturday. Central Arkansas improves to 5-1-0.

KEY MOMENTS

The Tigers fell behind 2-0 in the first half after Central Arkansas scored in the 31st and 40th minutes, with the latter coming on a penalty kick.
Thirty-five minutes into the second half, Galizzi found the back of the net in the 80th minute to cut the deficit in half.
The Puerto Madryn, Argentina, native scored again just 122 seconds later to knot the contest at 2.
Central Arkansas' Karim Diao put home the game-winner in the 88th minute.

NOTABLES

Galizzi has three goals in the last two matches after scoring in the 3-1 win at UAB Saturday night.
Memphis outshot the Bears in the match, 15-10.
