Austin III Named AAC Offensive Player of the Week

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis wide receiver Calvin Austin III was named the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, the league office announced.
Austin III has the best game of his career in a 55-50 win at Arkansas State this past Saturday, reeling in six catches for 239 yards and three touchdowns. His 239 receiving yards were the second-most in single-game, program history behind Anthony Miller's 250-yard performance vs. Tulsa, Oct. 29, 2016.
Austin III totaled more than 100 receiving yards for the seventh time in his career, the third most 100-yard games in program history.
On the season, Austin III has 12 receptions for 286 yards and four scores. His four touchdowns lead the AAC and rank second in the nation, while his receiving yards also top the conference and rank fourth nationally. The redshirt senior ranks second in the NCAA in receiving yards per game at 143.0.
The Memphis Tigers will return to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 18 to host SEC rival Mississippi State at 3 p.m. CT. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
