Phillips Announces 2021-22 Schedule

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis interim head rifle coach Morgan Phillips announced the team's 2021-22 schedule on Tuesday. The slate includes nine regular season matches, an NCAA qualifier, the Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships and the NCAA Championships.
Eight of the nine regular season matches will be against GRAC opponents, while four of the matches will be contested at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range in Memphis.
"We are very excited to begin competing again in October," Phillips said. "Our team has a very challenging schedule this year, including matches against WVU, Kentucky and Ole Miss in the fall. It is always a great opportunity to get the chance to compete against some of the best teams in the nation to help push us."
The season gets underway on Oct. 10 with a GARC contest at West Virginia. The Tigers will also face Kentucky (Nov. 14), Army (No. 22), Akron (Jan. 23) and Ole Miss (Feb. 12) on the road this season.
Memphis' first home contest of the year will be on Oct. 16 at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range against Navy. The Tigers will also host GARC rivals N.C. State (Oct. 30) and Ole Miss (Nov. 20). Memphis will also host Murray State in a non-conference matchup on Jan. 29, 2022.
The Tigers will also face Murray State on the road in the team's NCAA qualifier on Feb. 20, before competing in the GARC Championships on Feb. 25-26, 2022.
The 2022 NCAA Rifle Championships will be hosted by N.C. State in Raleigh, N.C. on March 11-12, 2022.
