New Student Section "The Ambush" Created

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - In an effort, to continue to enhance the game day experience, several departments across the University of Memphis teamed up during the last 18 months to look at the student experience.

As a result, an area was identified to provide the students a section they can call their own. With the help of a working group, a new Student Section was developed called The Memphis Ambush (The Ambush), getting the name from the definition of an Ambush, which is a group of tigers.

The entire student body will now be a part of The Memphis Ambush when sitting in their sections at Tiger football games. Locations at the Liberty Bowl will be the first stage of branding as the program continues to grow and future locations at each Athletics venue are identified.

Students will be given shirts to wear when in these sections and an executive board will be formed within the Student Leadership and Involvement office to help manage the group and keep the students engaged during the course of the year.

Incoming freshmen were given their first taste of the new student section as they received Ambush T-shirts at the annual Frosh Frenzy event this past Friday, Aug. 20 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Fans can follow The Ambush on Twitter and Instagram at @MemphisAmbush.
