Tigers upended at No. 48 Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. – In a clash of ranked teams in the American Athletic Conference men's tennis opener, No. 48 Wichita State came away with a 5-1 win over No. 22 Memphis Friday afternoon in Wichita, Kan.

The Tigers (5-2) had won three-straight matches before Friday's defeat.

The Shockers opened the match by capturing the doubles point, including a win by the 32nd-ranked team of Murkel Dellien/Marius Frosa.

Memphis' James Story got the Tigers on the board and tied the match at 1 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Frosa in the No. 1 singles position, but that was all Memphis picked up on the day.

The Tigers continue AAC play Sunday at Tulsa.
