TULSA, Okla. – Sunday's match at No. 50 Tulsa started off in fine fashion, but the No. 22 Memphis Tigers ultimately dropped their second-straight contest, 4-3.
Memphis' doubles team of Oscar Cutting/David Stevenson defeated 29th-ranked Kody Pearson/Connor Di Marco of Tulsa, 6-2, and the Tigers also took the other two doubles matches to earn Sunday's first point.
Tulsa then picked up the first two singles points to take a 2-1 lead, before Jeremy Taylor of Memphis knotted things up at 2 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Juan Pablo Cenoz from the fourth position.
But the Hurricane earned back-to-back wins from the sixth and second positions to clinch the match. The Tigers' Pau Fanlo won the last point of the day, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, to bring the match to its final score of 4-3.
