Neelly named AAC Male Field Athlete of the Week

IRVING, Texas – The University of Memphis' Adam Neelly has been named the American Athletic Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Neelly, a graduate student from Gallatin, Tenn., was a double winner in the Tigers' outdoor season opener at the Rhodes Invitational last weekend. He claimed the top spot in the discus throw (57.86m, 189-10) and shot put (17.47m, 57-03.75). Neelly also claimed fourth in the hammer throw with his 55.67m effort.
In the 2021 indoor season, Neelly had four top-three finishes in three meets, which included shot put and the weight throw.
Up next, Neelly and the track and field teams will compete in the Ole Miss Classic this Friday and Saturday.
