Tigers fall to Alabama Friday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Memphis women's tennis narrowly lost 4-3 to Alabama on Friday. The Tigers are now 0-6 on the season.
Memphis started the afternoon strong claiming two of the three doubles courts. Katherine Cao and Aran Teixido Garcia defeated Alabama with a 6-1 set while Josephine Cao and Sophie Abrams picked up a win with a 7-5 decision on the court.
Battling it out in singles play, Memphis claimed two of the six courts. Sophie Abrams and Aran Teixido Garcia both claimed victory in the only matches to go three sets.
Teixido Garcia came back from a first set deficit to win the second set 6-2. Taking control, the sophomore won the third set with another 6-2 decision in the court. Abrams won her third match this season with 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 sets.
