MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis baseball's Hunter Goodman added his fourth Preseason All-America honor ahead of the 2021 season with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association naming the sophomore as its Second Team catcher.
In addition to NCBWA's nod on Wednesday, Goodman was named to Preseason All-America teams by Baseball America, D1Baseball and Collegiate Baseball earlier this year. Collegiate Baseball also named Goodman to their All-America team following the condensed 2020 schedule.
With his All-America accolade at the end of the 2020 season, the Arlington, Tenn., native became the first player in program history to be named a Freshman All-American and All-American in a career.
Voted the American Athletic Conference's Preseason Player of the Year, Goodman was joined by Bryson Worrell of ECU as the lone AAC representatives on NCBWA's Preseason All-America teams.
The junior capped his 2020 campaign ranked third nationally with eight home runs and 31 RBI and ranked sixth in the country with 52 total bases through 17 games.
For his career, Goodman holds a .333 batting average with 21 home runs, 98 RBI and 13 stolen bases.
