MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis has announced that men's basketball activities have been paused until further notice due to positive COVID-19 cases and the ensuing contact tracing among Tier I individuals within the program.
As a result, the American Athletic Conference has postponed Thursday's game against Cincinnati.
"While we're disappointed to not be playing, we are absolutely committed to ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved," Tigers head coach Penny Hardaway said. "We look forward to getting back into action when it is determined to be safe."
The University remains in constant contact with the AAC's Medical Advisory Group, and additional information based on their recommendations will be announced as it is available.
