Memphis Track & Field Finishes with Four Wins at Scarlett and Black Invitational

JONESBORO, Ark. – The University of Memphis indoor track and field team posted four wins and several top-five performances at the Scarlett and Black Invitational Sunday.
Two of the four wins of the meet came from DeeNia McMiller. She won the women's weight throw with a toss of 21.11m and also claimed shot put with a mark of 14.96m/49-1.
Paris Perkins and Braam Bisschop rounded out the Tigers' wins with first-place finishes in the women's 400m dash and the men's 200m dash. Perkins crossed the finish line with a time of 57.69, and Bisschop led the men's group of 17 with a time of 21.86. Bisschop also recorded a third-place finish in the men's 55m dash prelim (6.47).
The Tigers had 11 other top-five performances in 11 of the events they competed in. Some of these include Adam Neelly placing second in the men's shot put (17.07m/56-0), Gage Ernsberger earning third in the men's high jump, and Parker Evans finishing in the third spot for men's weight throw.
Hosted by Arkansas State University in the First National Bank Arena, the meet included six other teams besides ASU: Arkansas- Little Rock, Louisiana, South Alabama, Troy, ULM and UT Arlington.
