PLAYER NOTES
- Coin Toss:Â Memphis won the toss and elected to receive.

- In the Tigers' 28-25 win, Memphis improved to 35-4 (.897) at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium with head coach Ryan Silverfield on staff.
- The victory was Memphis' first win over an AP top-25 opponent since the victory over Cincinnati in the AAC Championship Game, Dec. 7, 2019.
- Memphis had a season-high five sacks; SMU had allowed just five sacks in total in the first eight games of the season.
- Memphis' five sacks were the program's most since a five-sack game against Cincinnati, Nov. 29, 2019.
- The Tigers forced three turnovers, the most since a four-takeaway performance vs. Temple, Oct. 24, 2020.
- 11 different Tigers had at least one catch, the third time this season Memphis has had at least 10 different players with a reception.
- The Memphis defense held SMU to 61 yards on the ground, the third time this season that the Tigers allowed fewer than 100 rushing yards.
- Memphis had multiple players throw a touchdown pass for the first time since a 70-31 win at UConn, Oct. 6, 2017.
PLAYER NOTES
- Returning from injury, quarterback Seth Henigan went 34-53 for 392 yards and two touchdowns.
- Henigan's 34 completions matched his career high set Oct. 9 at Tulsa, while he threw for at least 300 yards for the fifth time this season.
- The fourth quarter touchdown pass by running back Rodrigues Clark was his first career pass attempt and non-rushing touchdown.
- Clark also added a career-best two catches and 20 receiving yards.
- Running back Asa Martin's third quarter touchdown was his first touchdown of the season and second of his career.
- Wide receiver Marcayll Jones had three catches, his first multi-catch game performance with the Tigers, while wide receiver Khi Mathieu had a career-long 27-yard reception.
- Linebacker JJ Russell tallied his first sack of the season and matched his career high with two tackles for loss.
- Defensive back Rodney Owens as well as defensive linemen Jaylon Allen and Maurice White each matched their single-game career high with a full sack. White added a career-best three tackles and a TFL.
- Owens' fourth quarter interception, which secured Memphis' win, was his first of the season and fourth of his career.
