Tigers Receive 2021 NIT Championship Rings

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The returning Memphis Tigers from the 2021 National Invitation Tournament title team received their championship rings Thursday evening at the Laurie-Walton Family Basketball Center.

Last March, Memphis defeated Dayton, Boise State, Colorado State and Mississippi State to capture the NIT championship and cap the 2020-21 campaign with a 20-8 record. The Tigers were playing some of their best basketball at the end of the season, winning 11 of their last 13 games with the only losses to Final Four participant Houston by a combined five points.

The NIT Championship banner will be unveiled at FedExForum prior to the 12th-ranked Tigers' 2021-22 season opener Tuesday night against Tennessee Tech. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
