DURHAM, N.C. – The Tigers (14-5-2) dropped a close contest in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament to the No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils (15-3-1) Friday night by a final tally of 1-0. The 2021 season marks the fifth season in the last six years in which the Tigers have recorded 10 or more wins and fifth season in which Memphis participated in the NCAA Tournament.

KEY MOMENTS

Challenging the top-seeded Blue Devils early, the Tigers won back-to-back corner kicks in the 20' and outshot Duke 4-1 in the first 30 minutes of the match.
Senior goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg grabbed her first save in the 35' to keep the match scoreless.
Duke found the opener just before the half via a Delaney Graham goal in the 43'.
A late Memphis push led to a trio of corners in the second half as the Tigers searched for the equalizer.
