PLAYER NOTES
- Coin Toss: Memphis won the toss and elected to receive.
- Memphis Captains: Preston Brady, Sylvonta Oliver and JJ Russell.
- Attendance: 28.431
- Memphis' 30-29 overtime loss was the Tigers' first overtime game since the American Athletic Conference Championship game vs. UCF, Dec. 2, 2017, and first overtime game at home since a 55-52 triple overtime win vs. SMU, Nov. 24, 2007.
- The Tigers tallied a season-high six sacks after setting a 2021 high with five sacks last week in the win vs. SMU.
- With 10 tackles for a loss as a team, Memphis recorded double-digit TFL's for the second time this season.
PLAYER NOTES
- Quarterback Seth Henigan went 15-of-26 for 233 yards and three touchdowns along with a career-high 12 rushes and a career and team-high 61 yards on the ground.
- With 37 receiving yards, wide receiver Calvin Austin III surpassed 1,000 receiving yards on the season, just the seventh 1,000+ yard receiving season in school history.
- It is Austin III's second consecutive season with at least 1,000 receiving yards, the third player in program history to have back-to-back 1,000+ receiving yard seasons.
- Running back Asa Martin tallied his first career receiving touchdown, his second straight game with a touchdown.
- Martin added a career-high three receptions and 64 receiving yards.
- Tied end Sean Dykes' go-ahead touchdown catch in the third quarter was his 19th career touchdown catch, tied for the fifth most in program history.
- With his 75-yard touchdown catch, wide receiver Eddie Lewis now has two touchdown receptions of at least 74 yards this season.
- It was the fourth Memphis touchdown this season of at least 75 yards (two pass, one rush, one punt return).
- With his first quarter interception, defensive back Jacobi Francis has recorded at least one interception in four straight seasons.
- Francis is the first Memphis player with two interceptions in a game since Rodney Owens picked off two Temple passes, Oct. 24, 2020.
- Francis also added 2.5 tackles for a loss, a single-game career-high.
- Defensive back Quindell Johnson had a career-high three pass breakups.
- Defensive lineman Morris Joseph recorded his first career pass breakup while defensive lineman Cam'Ron Jackson notched his first career sack.
- Defensive lineman Wardalis Ducksworth set new single-game career highs in sacks (2.5) and tackles for a loss (2.5), and total tackles (8).
- Ducksworth and linebacker Jaylon Allen (2.0) were the first Tigers with multiple sacks in a game since Jonathan Wilson had two sacks vs. Penn State in the Cotton Bowl, Dec. 28, 2019.
- Allen matched his single-game career-high with six tackles and two TFLs.
