MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers (10-13, 3-8) had revenge on their mind in Friday night's matchup with the East Carolina Pirates (8-12, 4-7) after a 3-0 loss at the home of the Pirates earlier this month. Friday night, the Tigers dropped the first set but rallied and took the next three sets in a 3-1 victory.

Set 1

After Memphis scored the first two points of the match, neither side led by multiple points until Memphis led 15-13
The Pirates followed with a 12-3 run to take the first set
The set featured 13 ties and seven lead changes

Set 2

The Tigers led by as many as three before East Carolina answered with an 8-1 run to lead 10-6
After a timeout down 14-9, Memphis scored three straight and nine of the next 10 points to lead 18-15
A pair of kills by Miaya Smith and the final finish by Tabytha Toelke highlighted Memphis' closing 6-2 run

Set 3

Memphis never trailed and was only tied three times at 3-3, 4-4, and 22-22
The Tigers led by as many as six at 14-8 and 17-11
East Carolina responded with five straight to cut the deficit to one (17-16)
A 3-0 run by the Pirates leveled the set 22-22, but Memphis struck for the final three points of the set on a kill by Gigi Crescenzo, an East Carolina attack error, and Toelke's ninth kill of the night

Set 4

The Tigers opened the set on a 9-3 run that included four kills by Autumn Hamilton
East Carolina responded with a 5-0 run that forced the Tigers into a timeout
Memphis pushed the lead back to three at 16-13 before the Pirates leveled the set
At 18-18, the Tigers struck for four straight points to take command of the set before kills from Toelke and Sabrina Bianco provided the final two points of the match for Memphis

Four Tigers finished with double-digit kills, led by Tabytha Toelke's 13 and Autumn Hamilton's 12
Toelke added 13 digs for her third double-double of the season, while Gigi Crescenzo tallied her third consecutive double-double with 11 kills and 19 digs
