Galizzi Scores Seventh Goal; Tigers Shy at South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. – The Memphis Tigers cut the deficit in half at the start of the second half but could not finish the comeback, falling at South Florida Friday night in Tampa, Fla., 2-1.

The loss snaps Memphis' three-game winning streak, and the Tigers are now 4-7-1 overall and 3-3-0 in American Athletic Conference action. South Florida moves to 4-6-1 on the year and 2-4-0 in the conference.

KEY MOMENTS

South Florida led 2-0 after goals in the 25th and 48th minutes by Shion Soga and Ben Kaplan, respectively.
Memphis' Maxi Galizzi, the reigning AAC Offensive Player of the Week, continued his solid form of late, scoring in the 51st minute to make the score 2-1.
The Tigers continued the offensive after Galizzi's goal, firing off nine shots down the stretch, but could not find the equalizer with South Florida goalkeeper Kazuna Takase standing firm between the pipes.
In the 81st minute, a potential game-tyer by Brandon Brackett hit the top woodwork.
