White earns a pair of weekly accolades

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After a solid performance to kick-start the 2020 campaign, Memphis quarterback Brady White was named one of the eight Manning Award Stars of the Week and garnered an honorable mention pick for CFPA National Performer of the Week.
White finished Saturday's contest against Arkansas State with 280 passing yards, four touchdowns and a career-high 39 rushing yards. His four touchdowns hit three different targets in Sean Dykes, Damonte Coxie and Calvin Austin III. It was the fifth time in his career he threw for at least four touchdowns.
The Santa Clarita, Calif., native finished with a Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium career-high 27 completions at a clip of 72.9 percent. On the ground, his 18-yard rush in the third was another career-high.
White enters the Houston game 365 yards shy of matching former Tiger Riley Ferguson for third on the Memphis career passing yards list. He currently has 7,590 career passing yards and 63 touchdowns. His 63 touchdowns are third-most in program history.
The Tigers are scheduled to take on the Cougars on Sept. 18 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. The game will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. and air on ESPN.
