Landers Nolley II averaged 15.5 points last season as a freshman at Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech transfer made ACC All-Freshman Team in 2019-20
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Landers Nolley II, a 6-foot-7 guard/forward from Virginia Tech, is joining the University of Memphis program.
Nolley, a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman Team last season, brings impressive credentials as the second to sign with the program in as many weeks. Ahmad Rand, a 6-foot-8 forward from USC Salkehatchie, signed a National Letter of Intent last week.
Nolley averaged 15.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in his lone season with the Hokies. In addition to earning a spot on the all-freshman team, he made All-ACC Honorable Mention and was a member of the 2019-20 ACC Men's Basketball All-Academic Team.
Nolley played in 32 games and made 29 starts for the Hokies. His scoring average ranked ninth in the ACC and 12th nationally among freshman. He became the first freshman to lead the team in scoring since Virginia Tech joined the ACC during the 2004-05 season.
In his Nov. 5 debut, Nolley scored 30 points against Clemson to set a school record. He was named ACC Freshman of the Week five times during the season.
Nolley sat out the 2018-19 season as a redshirt after a stellar high school career. He led his teams to three straight state championships, one in Chicago and two in Fairburn, Ga., with Langston Hughes High.
At Langston Hughes, he set the school record for career points in just two seasons and was named the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Player of the Year – and all-state – his senior season. He averaged 31 points eight rebounds and three assists as a senior.
In leading Langston Hughes High to an 85-78 win over Gainesville (Ga.) High in the Class 6A state title game in 2018, he posted a double-double of 34 points and 10 rebounds. He also had six assists and three steals.
He scored 26 points with six rebounds and four blocks in the 2017 6A title game. As a junior, he averaged 25 points and seven rebounds.
Nolley had a 56-point game in high school and led the state of Georgia in scoring as a senior.
While playing for Curie High in Chicago as a sophomore, he averaged 17 points per game en route to leading the team to the 4A state title.
Nolley's father, Landers, played college basketball at LSU for Dale Brown.
