Rifle Drops Two Matches Over The Weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Memphis rifle squad dropped two matches last weekend to No. 1 Kentucky and No. 4 Akron. Both were Great America Rifle Conference matches held at the UK Rifle Range.

Leading the way for the Tigers over the weekend was David Crenshaw, who shot a 1173 aggregate versus Kentucky and a 1165 against Akron.

Tigers Tidbits

The match versus Kentucky ended a stretch of four-consecutive outings with four or more Tigers recording 1160 aggregates or higher. Memphis returned to form versus Akron with five shooters having 1160 aggregates or higher.
David Crenshaw shot a career-best 1173 aggregate versus Kentucky. His previous-high was 1169 versus Army-West Point earlier this season. Crenshaw also tied a career-high with a 582 smallbore score versus the Wildcats.
Taylor Gibson shot a 1168 aggregate versus Akron. It was the fourth time in the last five matches she posted a 1165 or higher aggregate.
Matt Dorey shot a career-high 590 in air rifle versus Akron. His previous-best was 589 a week earlier at the Jan. 24 Withrow Invitational.
Arielle Kimm shot an aggregate of 1163 against Akron. It was the fifth time in the last six matches she posted a 1160 or higher aggregate.
